Waratah visited Harker Oval on Saturday undefeated in second place for their 4th round clash. Skipper Scott Mackenzie won the toss and decided to bat despite the overnight rain. It proved to be a good decision when opener Asher Robins (77) and first drop Linden Lockhart (62) combined to lay the foundations of a strong total.

After a middle order collapse, we floundered to 8-205 before the big-hitting Josh Brackenbury (76) rescued us, with our innings ending at 325 off 83 overs. Bracks was ably supported by number 10 Ben Sullivan (15) and number 11 (and debutant) Scott Shepard (20 not out). Shep became cap number 464 for the Tahs as a late inclusion for the injured Liam Wilson. We hope he can spin us to victory next week.

In reply, Wests are 0/16 off 7 overs after surviving several big appeals late in the day.
